SANTIAGO, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- The fifth-set biebreaker will be adopted in the men's team event Davis Cup in 2016, the International Tennis Federation announced on Friday.
The measure, approved at the ITF general assembly in Santiago, is aimed at reducing the length of matches and encouraging participation of top players.
Currently, Davis Cup best-of-five set matches feature tiebreakers in the first four sets, but not in the fifth.
