Chen took an early lead in the first game which Hu couldn' t recover from as it continued to build.
In the second, Hu kept pace early, however Chen outclassed his fellow countryman, teaching him how to shuttle. Chen took the match 21-11, 21-8 in thirty minutes.
World number 9 Viktor Axelson is continuing his dream run after defeating China' s Lin Dan on Tuesday night. Axelson defeated China' s Xue Song 21-19, 18-21, 21-14.
In the women' s draw, China' s hopes for 1st place are still alive as number one seed Li Xuerui outclassed Mitani Minatsu 21-16, 21-14 in thirty-nine minutes.
The un-seeded Chinese shuttler Tian Houwei beat current world number 4 Kidambi Srikanth of India to progress to the quarterfinals 18-21, 21-17, 21-13.
Although all the seeded pairs in the mixed doubles made it to round 2, China' s pairing of Lu Kai/Huang Yaqiong fell to the South Koreans Choi Solgyu/Eom Hye Won 17-21, 23-21, 19-21.
Top seeds Xu Chen/Ma Jin moved to the quarterfinals after defeating the South Korean pairing Shin Bae Choel/Chae Yoo Jung 21-17, 19-21, 21-19.
