DUSHANBE, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- The news of disqualification of Tajik footballer from the ongoing Asian Games was quickly flowed by foreign media.

The Tajik footballer Khurshed Beknazarov became the first athlete in the 17th Asian Games to be banned for failing a drug test. This incident is reported and broadcasted by Reuters, Eurosport, Hindustan Times, insidethegames.biz and other media.

The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) said on Wednesday that Tajik defender Beknazarov, 20, tested positive for a banned stimulant and now faces a potential ban from international football.

Beknazarov's urine sample was found to contain methylhexaneamine after he played one half of Tajikistan's 1-0 win over Singapore on Sept. 14.

Methylhexaneamine is widely found in dietary supplements and sporting authorities say it is increasingly common among professional athletes.

The athlete has been disqualified from the competition as well as these Games and as such his accreditation withdrawn, according to OCA statement.

A total of 92 Tajik athletes are participating in the 2014 Asian Games that takes place in Incheon, South Korea from Sept. 19 to Oct. 4.
