TEHRAN, Aug. 24 (Xinhua) -- Iran finished fourth in the Slovenian basketball tourney, Tasnim news agency reported on Sunday.
The Iranian team lost to hosts Slovenia, Lithuania and Brazil in the four-team tournament held on August 21-23.
Iran's participation in the competitions was part of its buildup to the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup to be played in Spain from Aug. 30-Sept. 14.
Iran has been drawn alongside hosts and World No. 2 team Spain, 2013 Eurobasket winners France, Egypt, Serbia and Brazil in Group A.
Iran will start their campaign with a game against Spain on Aug. 30.
