PARIS, Jan. 6 (Xinhua) -- Formula One legend Michael Schumacher is more stable, but remains in a critical condition a week after suffering severe head injuries in a skiing accident, Grenoble hospital authorities said on Monday.
"The clinical state of Michael Schumacher is stable as he's under permanent care and treatment," the hospital said in a statement.
"However, the medical team in charge stresses that it continues to assess his situation as critical."
The retired seven-time Formula One champion struck his head on a rock while skiing off-piste on December 29 at Meribel ski resort in the French Alps.
He has undergone two emergency operations and has been in a medically induced coma since the accident.
