BEIJING, May 18 (Xinhua) -- A book designed to help understand President Xi Jinping's remarks on national defense and building the army has been published, military authorities said Wednesday.
The book detailed and elaborated Xi's remarks on military issues. Xi is also chairman of the Central Military Commission.
The book was published by the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Publishing House and will be distributed across the armed forces.
The Political Work Department under the Central Military Commission led the compilation of the book, which is a revised edition based on a version published in 2014.
The department has issued a circular urging all officers and soldiers to study the book.
The department said studying the book should be viewed as a key part of the military's political studies. They hope the book will help servicemen correctly understand Xi's views on military construction in order to better implement orders from the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, the CMC and Chairman Xi.
