Tens of thousands of netizens on China's twitter-like social network site Sina Weibo have posted their opinions regarding a tragic case of cyber bullying. With what is dubbed as a "human flesh search" by China's online community, users will often scour the internet including blogs and forums, to expose individuals to public humiliation. Many are now calling for better laws to regulate cyber vigilantism, especially acts that expose people’s real identities and private information.

One netizen says everyone who helped find and expose the girl’s identity should feel guilty of her death. In this case, no one is innocent, and no one has the right to expose other people’s private information.

Another post asks netizens to stop blaming the shop owner for initiating the "human flesh search" in order to prevent more damage from cyber-bullying.

People also pointed out that both the shop owner and the girl, failed to turn to legal assistance or protection when their rights were violated.
