Hello, I'm Marion Marshall with the BBC News.

The European Commission President Jean Claude Juncker has told the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson that with just over six weeks to go to Brexit, he's still waiting for new British proposals for a deal. After their first meeting since Mr. Johnson took office, Mr. Juncker called the working lunch friendly. Damian Grammaticas is in Brussels. The European side, the EU released a statement, Mr. Juncker saying that he recalled it's the UK's responsibility to come up with legally operational solutions that are compatible with the withdrawal agreement. That's the EU demand all along. The UK has to come up with something that is legally watertight and workable and hasn't. And the statement goes on to say such proposals have not yet been made, which implies that nothing substantially different was tabled in this meeting. The question is, was enough air between them to sort of see a way through? And could something then be tabled here with negotiators in Brussels in the coming days.

There has been a leap in global oil prices following attacks on processing facilities in Saudi Arabia on Saturday which cuts Saudi output by a half. At one point, the cost of brent crude rose by almost twenty percent, although they later fell back. Here is Karishma Vaswani. If this is a forty-eight hour issue, you know and if they can get their supplies back online in that time, we don't know the full scale of the damage of course from Saudi Arabia, then things should be fine in the short term. But if this stretches out for four weeks or so or beyond that, then it really brings into question just how much oil has been taken off the world markets and that could see higher prices going forward.

United Nations investigators say that more than half a million Rohingya living in Myanmar are still at risk of genocide. The UN says that under these conditions, it would be impossible for a million Rohingya refugees who fled from military violence to neighboring Bangladesh to return home. Imogen Foulkes reports. Six hundred thousand Rohingya Muslims remain in Myanmar. This latest UN report says they are subjected to such repression, including torture, sexual violence, restriction of movement and denial of humanitarian aid that they live under the threat of genocide. The UN investigators say Myanmar's government has done nothing to prevent this persecution and should be brought before the International Court of Justice for failing to honor its obligations under the convention against genocide.

A security firm has found that the personal data of almost every Ecuadorian citizen has been exposed online. The company VpnMentor said it discovered names, financial information and civil data about twenty million people, most of them from Ecuador on an unsecured server based in the US city of Miami. The exposed files included government ID details, phone numbers, family records and education histories. BBC news.
