Built in 1936, the Marconi type-702 has been crowned the oldest working television set in Britain. With a 12-inch screen contained in a walnut and mahogany case, the 75-year-old set was bought for 100 pounds only three weeks after transmissions in Britain began, and had one channel broadcasting for two hours a day. Now the TV has a pre-sale estimate of 5,000 pounds, but experts expect it to fetch much more.
