Premier Li Keqiang said at today’s executive meeting of the State Council that more water conservancy projects will be established in China.
The meeting said that by 2020 there will be 172 water projects in the country that can irrigate more than 5.2 million hectares. China will strengthen its irrigation system in the future and also transfer water to needed areas.
In addition, China will increase the country’s water supply and enhance its ability to fight flooding. China will encourage more private capital to join in the construction during the process.
On another topic, Premier Li also said that the central government will increase the size of its venture capital fund to support new industries and start-ups.
