Chinese Premier Li Keqiang has addressed Romania's Parliament in Bucharest. He hailed the progress of ties between China and Romania over the past years, despite changes on the international and regional scenes. He also made several proposals to further develop the relationship between the two countries.
"The first proposal is to enhance mutual political trust between the two countries. China and Romania share a similar political and strategic vision. We should maintain the respect between us and expand areas where we have a mutual interest. Exchanges at different levels, especially parliamentary communication, should be enhanced to reach a better foundation of cooperation and development. The second proposal is to find potential areas of cooperation. Enthusiasm for cooperation between the two countries is high at the moment, especially industrial cooperation. China will also import more Romanian products of high quality to narrow the trade gap," Li says.
The premier also called for efforts to expand the bilateral trade scale and promote balanced trade development. Li proposed the two countries jointly build an economic and technological park to create favorable conditions for bilateral investment.
Li expressed the willingness to joint hands with Romania in strengthening cooperation in major projects such as nuclear energy and high-speed railways as well as infrastructure construction.
He also said that both sides should cement and expand current cultural, educational and people-to-people exchanges, so as to pass on the China-Romania friendship to the next generation.
