Japanese Prime Minister, Naoto Kan says the government has been disclosing all the information it has on the accident at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. He is also calling for national unity during this trying time.
He said, "The country is facing two major challenges. One is the earthquake and the ensuing tsunami;the other is the nuclear crisis. As for the nuclear problem, we have been honestly saying that the situation with the accident at the nuclear plant is very serious, and it is the most serious crisis since World War two. But we will manage to overcome this tragedy and recover."
Kan is also hailing the personnel at the Fukushima plant for risking their lives to resolve the situation. He is also praising the behavior of his people during the tragedy, observing the country is getting global support and there is no time to be pessimistic. Kan is confident Japan will overcome this disaster.
