Japanese carmaker Toyota has announced the recall of more than 2 million vehicles to fix accelerator pedal jam issues.
It's feared the pedals could be trapped by loose or misplaced carpet. The recall comes a little more than two weeks after a US government probe found the company's electronics did not cause unintended acceleration.
On Thursday, Toyota widened its late 2009 recall of vehicles, including some 760-thousand RAV-4 Crossovers for the model years 2006 through 2010.
The vehicles were recalled because the design of their floor mat was similar to models with the same fault in late 2009.
