The China Railway Group will acquire and reorganize the China Airport Construction Company. Following its reorganization, China Railway will become the world's largest transportation infrastructure construction company, with operations covering land, sea and air travel.
As China's largest construction company, China Railway has built two-thirds of the country's railways, two-thirds of its metros and one-tenth of its highways. The reorganization will involve China Airport Construction's four sub-companies and 52 institutions, and 1.9 billion yuan in assets. The move is being pushed by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission to strengthen state-owned enterprises.
