TOKYO, April 2 (Xinhua) -- Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida said late Thursday that Japan cannot accept the Democratic People's Republic of Korea's (DPRK) hints to break off bilateral talks.

Kishida told reporters that the DPRK had hinted through diplomatic channels that it may suspend ongoing talks with Japan.

"It is totally unacceptable," he was quoted by Japan's Kyodo News Agency.

The DPRK blamed Japan in a notification on Thursday through diplomatic channel for "internationalizing" the issue of its past abductions of Japanese nationals at the United Nations and accused Japanese police of "illegally" searching the house of the leading head of the officials of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan who are deputies to the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK.

"Under such situation it is hard to hold DPRK-Japanese inter- governmental dialogue," said the Korean Central News Agency.

Japan and the DPRK resumed official negotiation one year ago. But there has been no tangible progress by now.
