LONDON, Jan. 24 (Xinhua) -- A total of 28 people were sent to hospital for treatment after two crashes occurred near Cardiff, capital of Wales, local police said Saturday.

According to BBC, the accident happened at about 11:50 a.m. on the motorway between junction 33 Capel Llanilltern and junction 34 Miskin.

Local traffic police said 28 people were taken to hospital after two crashes involving a small coach and six vehicles. Among the injured, one woman was airlifted to hospital.

The first accident happened after the coach was collided with four other cars on the eastbound carriageway, South Wales Police said.

Most of those injured people were classed as "walking wounded", but six of them got more serious injuries. None of them suffer from life threatening injuries, BBC said.

It reported a few minutes after the first crash, two vehicles were overturned on the westbound carriageway without anyone injured.

Traffic Wales said the road has reopened, but there's still disruption on the motorway and some of the roads leading there.
