During her years as Dean of the prestigious Harvard Law School, Kagan limited military recruiters' access to students in her school, as the military's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy conflicts the college's non-discriminatory policy towards homosexuals.

Answering a question posed by Jeff Sessions, the panel's top Republican, she said she believes the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy is "unwise and unjust," but she also reveres the military.
