Wu also appealed for more people-to-people exchanges and stronger coordination on international issues.

As next year will mark the 20th anniversary of dialogues between China and the Associations of Southeast Asian Nations ( ASEAN), Wu said China is glad to seek a more united, stable and developed ASEAN.

Wu said China would support the ASEAN's major role in East Asia cooperation and called for Indonesia to play a bigger part in boosting China-ASEAN relations.

Boediono agreed with Wu's proposal, saying it was Indonesia's unswerving policy to seek strategic partnership and mutually beneficial cooperation with China.

He said Indonesia would make joint efforts with China to expand cooperation on businesses, investment and big projects.

Boediono said Indonesia stood ready to work more closely with China in multilateral fields and play a positive role in ASEAN.

Indonesia was the second leg of Wu's three-nation tour to Southeast Asia, which also included Cambodia and Thailand.
