BEIJING, Aug. 3 (Xinhuanet) -- The speculation on the judging panel of “American Idol” season 10 may still go on.

On Monday’s Television Critics Association press tour of ABC, Fox Entertainment Chairman Peter Rice told media that he couldn't provide an update on the ongoing negotiations with potential "Idol" judges.

Rice claimed that "no one has signed a deal on either side of the camera who wasn't on the show last year."

Confirming Ellen DeGeneres's annoucement on departure, Rice said he began talking to her about her desire to leave the show in June and that he was unable to persuade her to give it one more year.

Rumors said that Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler and Jessica Simpson may all become new faces on the judging bench when the 10th season begins in January.

Rice replied that "much of the information that has been written is accurate," but also added that some of the reports have also been "widely inaccurate."

However, Rice also promised that the full panel will be chosen by mid-September in time for auditions of new season.
