BEIJING, Jan. 21 --The idea that singing sensation Susan Boyle will join China Radio International (CRI) as a host has been dismissed as a rumor, the Legal Mirror report-ed Wednesday.

The gossip, which said that Susan Boyle would join CRI and host an English language program, has been widely spread on several residents' online forums in Shijingshan district in Beijing, where CRI is located.

Web users showed great interest and excitement at the big "news."

Some were even concerned about the expected increase in traffic congestion caused by Bolye's arrival.

"I suggest residents who live near Babaoshan arrange their daily trip ahead of time, as the nearby roads and subway will be extremely congested," a web user wrote in a post.

Li Peichun, director of the CRI English center, told the Legal Mirror that there really is a Susan joining CRI.

That Susan was not Susan Boyle, but Susan Osman who used to work for the BBC.

Despite the misrepresentation, Chinese fans are still able to enjoy her newly released album I Dreamed a Dream, which entered the Chinese mainland market Tuesday.

The album was released last November in other countries, and debuted as one of the best sellers on charts.

Chinese fans are also likely to watch her perform in China as a result of the persistent efforts to invite her by some provincial TV stations.

Lots of coverage by all kinds of media said that Boyle is expected to appear at the Spring Festival Gala held by Hunan TV Station on February 7, which failed to invite her to perform on the singing competition called Happy Girls' voice last year.

Li Hao, the spokesperson for Hunan TV, said in previous interviews that they were negotiating with Boyle and will do their best to make it happen regardless of cost.

Boyle has become very popular amongst Chinese fans since she shot to fame in the TV show Britain's Got Talent last year. People dubbed her the English super girl, a name for those who participate in the singing competition held by Hunan TV Station.
