Hello, I'm Debby Russ with the BBC News.

Britain has said that Russia has till midnight on Tuesday to explain its role in a nerve agent attack of a former double agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia on British soil. Moscow claims the Prime Minister Thresa's accusations are unfounded. From Moscow, here is Sarah Rainsford. It doesn't look like the Kremlin or however here politically, it's about to comply with demands coming from London. Certainly, all along what we've heard is the denial from Russia that there is any state involvement in what's happened in the poisoning of Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia. The president himself was asked about that by my colleague Steve yesterday down the tonight agricultural forum in Krasnodar. President Putin said when you've got to the bottom of it yourself, perhaps we can talk and his spokesman before that had denied any direct links. So I think we are going to hear that time and again. Earlier, the US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson gave his strong backing to Britain, saying he agreed that Russia was probably behind the poisoning nine days ago.

The top Democrat on a US Congressional Committee has accused Republicans of capitulating to Donald Trump by deciding to end an investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election. Adam Schiff said they were protecting the president rather than the country and will be judged harshly by history. The Republicans who dominate the House Intelligence Committee say they found no evidence of collusion with Moscow by Donald Trump's campaign.

President Trump has blocked a bid by a foreign company for a takeover of the American computer chip makers Qualcomm. He cited national security concerns about the deal initiated by a Singapore-based rival Broadcom. Here is Mariko Oi. The US authorities usually don't get involved until the deal is agreed. But in a rare move, Qualcomm requested their review. The move comes as the US turns increasingly protectionist. Earlier this month, that the president slapped steep tariffs on imports in steel and aluminium. The Qualcomm deal would have been the biggest the tax sector has ever seen. And it would have created the world's third biggest chip maker behind Intel and Samsung.
