The Second World Abti-doping Agency (WADA) Global Education Conference 2018 has been held in Beijing, on Oct. 24th-25th. At the conference, Sir Craig Reedie, the President of WADA praised the achievements made by China in the anti-doping campaign.
Sir Craig said the work of the China Anti-Doping Agency (CHINADA) is improving every year. He expressed confidence in the organization's ability to implement its plans and reach set goals. In China, the anti-doping campaign has received strong government support, a move that has laid a strong foundation for the goal of achieving "clean sports" in the country.
He also praised CHINADA for taking a zero tolerance stance on doping in sports. Chinese sports authorities are tightening up their doping controls on competition-bound teams in addition to their already strict routine tests. Plans are to criminally prosecute individuals found using or producing prohibited substances.
The overall number of doping tests conducted by CHINADA annually exceeds 18,000.
