New Chinese musical "Long Johns and Rolling Pin" is now being staged in Beijing.
It centers on a young girl who leaves her hometown in pursuit of her ambition of working as an actress in Beijing.
According to director Zhang Wenxiao, the play portrays the plight of contemporary young people on their career path and other social issues in China.
As they are confronted with difficulties, the young adults also have to tackle communication problems with their parents.
The director added, it shows an open-minded and optimistic outlook towards hardships in life.
The musical is to be staged in Beijing and Tianjin.
