Addressing the opening of a media leaders' summit in the Chilean capital, Santiago, Xi Jinping has announced China's plan to provide training to 500 media professionals from Latin America and the Caribbean in the next five years, with a center already established to host visiting journalists.
"As an ancient Chinese saying goes - when we speak a common language and live according to a common set of principles, no distance is enough to separate us. Exchanges in the media sector are an important component of China-Latin America relations. Our media sectors play an integral role in deepening the friendship between our peoples."
