Chen Aisen claimed the gold in the men's 10 meter platform event on Saturday to help China take home seven out of Rio's eight diving golds.
Mexico's German Sanchez and American David Boudia took the silver and bronze.
It is Chen's second gold in Rio. He won the men's synchronized 10m platform with teammate Lin Yue on August 8.
Chen, at his first Olympics, scored a total of 585.30 with his tight spins and clean entries into the water.
Chen's teammate, London 2012 silver medalist Qiu Bo, ended the competition in sixth place, after low scores of 47.25 and 47.50 on his second and fifth attempts knocked him out of the running for a podium spot.
The only gold China failed to win in Rio was in the men's synchronized 3 meter springboard where they took the bronze instead.
As the defending champion of men's 10m platform event, David Boudia delivered another excellent performance today, winning a bronze medal this time around.
Our reporter Liu Yan talks to Boudia about his thoughts on his results, his rivalry with Chinese divers, and what's coming up next for him.
