Former member from K-Pop girl group Sunny Days, Zhang Bichen, has recently contributed her voice to a romantic film on a cross-cultural love relation, "Huang Yan Xi Xi Li", or Never Said Goodbye in English.
Singing its theme song in the MV "Why I Want to Tell Him Who I Am", Zhang Bichen reveals how she made her voice match the blue romance storyline.
"This song was originally planned as a team work of several duos, but it finally became my solo. Dou Peng suggested I should sing it lightly, because a light voice carrying deep love in heart may sound more powerful to audiences. I practiced again and again to find the sense of being light but imbued with sensation. So it was definitely an unforgettable experience for me."
Zhang Bichen, the winner of the third season of The voice of China, was first introduced to South Korean culture in the mid-2000s. She debuted as a part of South Korean girl group Sunny Days in 2013, four years after she travelled to South Korea as an exchange student in 2009.
Starring Chinese actress Zhou Dongyu and South Korean actor and singer Lee Joon-gi, the movie Never Said Goodbye will hit theaters on August 9th.
