Practice rounds are taking place ahead of the start of the FedExCup Playoffs on Thursday in New Jersey.
The FedEx cup is an opportunity for players ranked below certian levels on the points list to qualify for the season-ending Championships.
These include the highly-lucrative BMW and Deutchebank events, as well as the Tour Championships toward the end of September.
Current world Number-1, American Jordan Speith, says he's not overly convinced the FedEx Playoffs are the right way to decide who should be entered in the season-ending tournaments.
"I think it's a little odd that it just completely resets because if you want it to be the true champion of the year then it wouldn't necessarily reset for the final even if you do make it worth more points throughout the playoffs."
Spieth is considered one of the top contenders this week at the Barclays.
Former World Number-1 Tiger Woods has failed to qualify for the playoffs after failing to win last week's Wyndam Championship.
