The ninth-annual Adidas Grand Prix will take place on Saturday in New York.
Usain Bolt is making his first appearance since he set his first world record in the 100 metres in May, 2008.
The six-time Olympic Gold Medalist said Friday that "everything is coming together" in his training.
"No, it's not where I want it to be but I'm getting there. Every day we're working on different things and everything is coming together. I'm feeling better every day in training so all I need to do now is get more races and just go out there and execute pretty much."
The event is the seventh stop on the international IAAF Diamond League circuit.
Sixteen different disciplines will be included in the competition.
