The Tampa Bay Lightning beat the New York Rangers 2-0 in Game 7 on Friday to win the Eastern Conference championship and book a spot in the Stanley Cup Finals.
Lightning center Alex Killorn opened the scoring nearly two minutes into the third period.
Goaltender Ben Bishop stopped all 22 shots from the Rangers while Henrik Lundqvist made 23 saves.
"Well we didn't give them much last game they had some open looks some odd-man rushes and a couple of seeing eye pucks and tonight the guys blocked shots gave up their bodies sacrificing and it makes a big difference when the guys out there are doing that and makes it really easy on me", Ben Bishop said.
New York had the league's best record this season and was 15-3 in its last 18 elimination games.
The Lightning will meet either the Anaheim Ducks or the Chicago Blackhawks, who will play a Game 7 tomorrow for the Western Conference title.
This will be the second time that Tampa Bay has played in the Stanley Cup Finals in their 22-year existence, having beaten Calgary to win the Cup in 2004.
The finals will begin on Wednesday.
