The Asian-African ministerial meeting has opened in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia.
At the opening ceremony, Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi highlights the implementation of the New Asia Africa Strategic Partnership.
"To develop corporation, to implement NAASP will assist us to address the challenges that we face in our region. We want to see a stable, democratic, and prosperous Asia Africa. We want to see (an) Asia Africa that respects human rights. And we want to see equality in Asia Africa and in the world."
The NAASP was launched at the previous Asian- African Summit, which was held in Indonesia in 2005.
Ministers of Asian and African countries held this meeting in preparation for the Asian-African Summit, which runs from April 22 to April 23.
A Commemoration of the 60th Asian- African Conference is also scheduled for Friday.
33 world leaders and representatives from 77 countries have confirmed to join the events, including Chinese President Xi Jinping.
