Chinese machinery producer Zoomlion has purchased a rice field in Hunan to launch its mechanical farming project.
Zoomlion officials have suggested they feel the agricultural sector is a new area of potential.
The company signed a deal last year for 340-million US dollars for a majority share in farm machinery maker Chery Heavy.
It's expected the Chinese agricultural machinery sector is expected to become a 65-billion US dollar a year industry.
