Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy is vowing to punish those in his ruling People's Party involved in corruption.
Rajoy has made the pledge while addressing parliament during debate about a new law to tackle corruption and illegal party financing.
"What do we intend to do, to use straightforward language: I want that whoever does it, pays for it. Of course. I also want that legal system is quick in the application of the final sentencing."
But at the same time, Rajoy is downplaying suggestions the entire political system in Spain is in trouble.
"Spain is not corrupt, Spain has a few corrupt people that thankfully are being shown up to the light of day, the rest is healthy."
Rajoy's People's Party is facing a string of corruption cases.
His health minister was forced to resign on Wednesday amid reports she's connected to a major corruption scandal in Spain.
43 people have been named as suspects, including three former party treasurers, in a case involving alleged illegal financing of the ruling Popular Party.
