Leaders and spouses involved in the APEC meetings in Beijing have taken part in a banquet hosted by Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The event has included traditional folk music and dancing, as well as a fireworks display at the Olympic Park.
Chinese President Xi Jinping used his speech to poke a bit of fun at the air-quality issues in Beijing.
"Some people call the clear Beijing skies these days the 'APEC Blue'. It's beautiful but temporary, and it will be gone soon after the APEC meeting. I hope, and believe, that with persistent efforts, the APEC blue will be here to stay."
The banquet was followed by a series of elaborate choreographed performances and a massive fireworks display, which saw the explosions spell-out "APEC 2014."
APEC leaders will spend today in the northern Beijing suburb of Huairou for their main meeting.
