The Communist Party of China, or CPC, has set a blueprint for rule of law in the world's second largest economy at a key meeting this week.

The Fourth Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee has just concluded in Beijing.

It has highlighted the Party's leadership and the overarching role of the Constitution in the country's legal system.

A communique issued after the meeting says officials will be criticized in public notices if they influence judicial activities or meddle in a particular case.

Rule of law is a basic national policy that China put in place in 1997.

For more on this, CRI's Zheng Chenguang earlier spoke to Professor Kerry Brown, Executive Director of the China Studies Center at University of Sydney.
