The F1 title battle will resume on Sunday on Singapore's Marina Bay street circuit, which is known for its challenging track layout and backdrop.
Starting with this weekend's Singapore race, teams are forbidden from using coded messages to prevent engineers from giving their drivers advice over the radio.
The drivers will have to rely on their cockpit dials and read-outs to make judgments.
Force India's Sergio Perez says it was a sudden change to implement but not a big deal.
"I don't think it's ideal that they, suddenly from one race to another, they change it dramatically that you cannot get certain calls. But it doesn't influence it much. I don't see it as a big deal, it's something that we as drivers need to get more used to."
Caterham driver Marcus Ericsson was optimistic about the changes, but admitted that it might be harder for the smaller teams.
Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen says the ban will affect nothing.
He doesn't like radio exchanges, but he has expressed concerns over when something is wrong with the car.
"But obviously it might get quite complicated if there are some problems with the car and you have to change certain things to try and finish the race so I don't know how the rule goes in those times."
Ferrari has a new chairman in Sergio Marchionne who is aiming to turn the Italian team around.
At the top of the standings is Mercedes, times 2.
Nico Rosberg leads Lewis Hamilton by 22 points, though it's Hamilton who finished tops in Italy.
Red Bull driver Daniel Riccardo sits in third, a marginal 50 points behind Hamilton.
