It is reported that Russian investigators will visit the crash site of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 as Ukraine suspends military operations in the east for a day.
The move comes after international monitors have been turned away from the crash site for three days amid clashes in eastern Ukraine.
The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe says the crash site is vulnerable to the summer weather.
Michael Bociurkiw is the spokesman for OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine.
"Every day that has passed is another day wasted, in terms of, constantly a waste, because the site is vulnerable, it's vulnerable to man-made factors, it's vulnerable to natural factors as well, the weather and other things. To even think that there's human remains lying out there, and you guys are all familiar with the weather right now, it's a very, very difficult situation and complex."
Ukraine's army says it has retaken a town on the outskirts of the main rebel stronghold of Donetsk.
19 people have died and 31 others injured in the fighting.
Clashes also continued between government troops and rebels about 40 kilometers west of the crash site.
The latest advances in Donetsk comes as government troops press on with an offensive to retake control of the country's east.
International community has called for a ceasefire.
Belarus is set to host talks between Ukraine, Russia and the OSCE later today on the crisis in Ukraine.
Dutch and Malaysian leaders are also due to talk on the process of identifying MH17 victims later today.
So far, Dutch aviation experts leading the inquiry into the crash have refused to comment on their investigation.
Data retrieved from the plane's black boxes is set to be released next week.
