The State Intellectual Property Office is reporting patent applications by new energy vehicle manufacturers here in China have surpassed 2 thousand.
This is the 3rd highest in the world only behind Japan and the US.

"China has included intellectual property rights registration and protection as one of its core interests because now we're at a stage of transformation. It is the time to guide IPR registrations to a more quality focused direction from the quality-intensive way."
China is also said to have promoted more than 27 thousand energy-saving and new energy vehicles last year.
