A local Beijinger Liu Lu says the routine programs for his family are making dumplings, setting firecrackers and watching TV gala.
Like his family, many celebrations following different customs are held to mark the day, among them setting off fireworks and firecrackers is a common way, because they are believed to be able to break the darkness and scare away demons and bad luck.
For many families, buying fireworks and firecrackers is what they have to do in the lead up to the festival, but among hundreds of fireworks, how can you pick up those worth the money you spend. Fireworks is different from other goods, you could know if you like it or not only by setting it off.
