广播听力：China Makes Breakthrough in the Technology of Self-made Jets

China is determined to boost its ability to build its own commercial jets, with models currently on display at the Air China show in the southern city of Zhuhai.

The models include the MA 700 regional jets which are currently being researched and developed and will reach the market within six years. Earlier in October, the MA 600 made its successful maiden flight.

In addition, China's first ever locally built commercial regional aircraft ARJ-21 will make its maiden flight this month. (WWW.hxen.com)

Zhang Qingwei is the Chairman of the 'Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China', which is responsible for passenger planes built in China.

"We plan to conduct the maiden flight of the ARJ-21-700 within this month. After that, four such planes will be given test flights."

Experts revealed that China has begun to allocate resources to make larger planes. They predict that Chinese people will be able to enjoy flying in domestically produced planes sooner than expected.
