广播听力：32 Dead as Chongqing Hit by Worst Rainstorm in 115 Years

At least thirty-five people have been killed and 11 left missing after the worst torrential rain in 115 years lashed southwest China's Chongqing municipality since Monday.

The municipal flood control office said more than 5.12 million people were affected by the rainstorms. The rainstorm destroyed thousands of homes and cut roads and power supplies.

Over 150,000 hectares of farmland were damaged, with losses exceeding 2 billion yuan or 280 million U.S. dollars.
At present, the central and local governments are organizing relief efforts in Chongqing and nearby Sichuan province, which has also been hit by the torrential rain.

Meanwhile, China's state floods control headquarters has made flood control plans for the north part of the country.
Cheng Dianlong is spokesman of the headquarters.

"It's right now the major flood season in northern China. It's the time that the Yellow River, Haihe River and Songliao River in the north to experience floods. We have sent work teams to these three rivers."
