广播听力：State Council Appoints Principal Officials of 3rd HKSAR Gov't

China's State Council, the cabinet, on Saturday appointed 20 principal officials of the third government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, nominated by Hong Kong's Chief Executive Donald Tsang Yam-kuen.

Among them, Henry Tang Ying-yen has been appointed Chief Secretary for Administration and John Tsang Chun-wah has been appointed Financial Secretary.

These officials will begin to carry out their duties on July 1st.

At a press conference, Donald Tsang Yam-keun says he hopes key members of the new government will cooperate closely to build a better Hong Kong.

"20 officials come from different backgrounds, but they have one thing in common. They share the obligation to China, to Hong Kong, and to Hong Kong citizens. More importantly, they recognize my principles for running the government. I believe they are the right person and the right combination for such positions. I hope such a responsible team will help to realize the administrative policies and help Hong Kong people lead a more prosperous life."

Donald Tsang Yam-kuen was formally reappointed Hong Kong chief executive in April this year, and his new five-year term commences on July 1.

The Hong Kong SAR Government was officially founded on July 1st, 1997.
