Queues in reserving restaurants and KTV rooms, the messy allocation of second-hand markets around campuses - some people in China may have long been used to such year-in-year-out conditions around the time of the annual graduation ceremonies for college students.

Beijing Daily Messenger reports that as the huge consumption capacity has greatly boosted the so-called 'graduation economy', great debate has been aroused amongst graduates, school authorities and many ordinary citizens too.

Scattered among the streets of the campus, second-hand markets in many campuses block the way for pedestrians and vehicles, leaving garbage darkening the image of the universities.

Many junior students say although prices in the markets are attractive, graduates should consider the effects on their surroundings.

School authorities admit that related rules have already been released, but that they still bring little genuine restriction on graduates, suggesting that the students should behave themselves as they to step into society.

In addition, many people outside campuses have complained of all-day noisy feasts and parties into the night have disturbed their normal life. They suggest students control their spending and consumption rationally before they graduate.
