my poor english

i want to enlarge the number of my vocabulary.i recite the words every day，but i can't make great progess.
it puzzles me every day and night.who can help me?

    when i was in college ,i usually use this way to remeber word
    first ,find some simple articles ,which has few strange words,the less word ,the more to remeber
    sec,when i was young ,my father told me ,if you want to remeber characters by hearts.write them on paper once is better than read them aloud many times

    thanks all, same problem with me. my english teacher order me to focus on my vocabulary. Too hard to enlarge the words in my mind. I am not young any more, too bad

    Do not only recite the words,but also need read so much news,whatever kind!
