航空公司弄丢了你的行李,宾馆的洗衣房弄脏了你最喜欢的衬衣,出租车司机多收了你的钱……当你身处异国,有些事情就是出乎你意料的发生。现在你有办法应对这样的突发事件了!掌握这些窍门,你就能用英语进行积极的投诉了。
不管你受到了多么不公正的待遇,礼貌的进行投诉总是没有错的。在英语中,如果你能使用非正式的口语听起来会更礼貌一点。这儿有一些例子:
I'm sorry to bother you ... 用“I'm sorry to bother you.(很抱歉打扰你。)”作为你表达不满的开场白,会让那个已经听了一天抱怨的接待员感觉舒服得多。如果问题不是很严重,你可以就可以这么说。例如:“I'm sorry to bother you, but I wanted a baked potato, not fries. (很抱歉打扰你,但我要的是烤土豆,不是炸的。)”
Can you help me with this? 没有人喜欢听命令从事而更愿意听到的别人的请求!所以当表达你的不满时,你可以让它听起来更像是请求帮助,例如:“Can you help me with this? My shirt came back from the laundry missing buttons. (请你帮个忙好吗?我的衣服送到你们的洗衣房后纽扣就不见了。)”
I'm afraid there may be a misunderstanding. 这可比你说“Your information is wrong. Please fix it now. (你们记录的信息是错误的,请立刻改正。)”礼貌多了。如果你预订了航班,旅馆或餐馆,而当你到达的时候却发现并不是你想要预定的,你就可以使用这样的表达。比如:“I'm afraid there may be a misunderstanding. I requested a non-smoking room. (恐怕这里有些误会。我定的是无烟区。)”
I understand it's not your fault ... 常常你在投诉的时候,接待的人并不是直接能对此事负责的人。但是问题当然不是你造成的!这句就很适用于当你需要转换语气的时候。你可以告诉接待你的人,你很理解这并不是他/她的错,但是接着你直接表明你遇到的问题,例如:“I understand it's not your fault, but the airline promised they would deliver my baggage yesterday. (我明白这不是你的责任,但航空公司承诺过他们昨天会把我的行李送到。)” Excuse me, but I understood that ... 用这句话告诉别人你已经掌握了所有的信息并怀疑他们可能在占你的便宜。不要说,“Hey! You're trying to cheat me! (嘿,我知道你在骗我!)”而应该以你已经知道的事实间接的表达你的意思,例如:“I understood that the taxi ride to the airport was only 25 dollars. (我知道坐出租车去机场只要25美元。)”然后给他们机会做出回应。
