How far would you go to live your dream?
When Santiago Munez has to leave his family, his life in L.A.and everyting that he knows to travel halfway around the globe to England and into a completely foreign world - the exciting, fast-paced and glamorous world of international soccer, you will get the answer. This movie is quite made for men, it's totally about a man's dream, passion, love, pains and pleasures, it tells how a man becomes a hero from zero in the soccer pitch.
As an underprivileged Mexican-American immigrant growing up in the gutter of L.A., he seemed destined to follow his father's path in life, laboring at menial jobs and earn just enough money to support his family. His amazing talent on the soccer field was wasted in recreation league games while he could only dream of playing on the world stage of professional soccer. But until one day a British scout discovers his talent and get him a tryout with one of England's premier clubs, Newcastle United. Santiago must choose between his father's fate and his own destiny.......
I have to say that I really love this film, and it truly touched me. It brought me lots of inspirations for going after one's dreams and just taught us how to face the life when you could only hide your dream deeply in heart. Santiago's father's always been trying to instill a sense of ' keep your feet on the ground instead of your head in the sky ' in him, but he deny to follow the way his father had designed for him, because he knew he could do some changes about his life and future. And his life had already changed when got to England.
