麦当娜出生于密歇根州的贝城，她是一个意大利大家庭8个孩子中的一个。她很早就表现出对音乐--尤其是在汽车城时--及舞蹈的热爱之情，这两方面的特长还使她获得过密歇根大学的奖学金。
